Day 2 – By Johnny
This year I was lucky enough to attend the By Johnny runway held in the Theatre at the 2014 MBFWA. For those of you new to my blog, or perhaps just missed some previous posts, Johnny Schembri is the reason I go into fashion. His designs, attitude and creativity made me want to be a part of this world and industry. I was so lucky to see years runway and it definitely something I will not forget.
This year focused on the brilliance of the female form – with accentuating 3D draping techniques to silhouettes.
Named “Spectrum” Johnny explores the ideals of geometric shapes, bold graphics, contouring and structure.
Light pastels to bold colours were also used to create depth, life and sophistication into the collection.
The Runway also represented Johnny’s inspiration with three large geometric squares suspending from the roofs to complement a clean, crisp white floor.
All in all, By Johnny you rock my world.
